ALL YOU KNOW ABOUT SYLLABUS OF UP JUDICIARY EXAMINATION AND ITS ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA




The Judges are the most honorable ,respected position in the judiciary system of India. The decision of Judge is most important in the society. Judges are impartial decision-makers in the pursuit of justice and they rule on questions of law, act as a referee between the litigating parties and renders decisions in legal disputes.

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UP PSC) announces almost every year the notification to fill such vacancies in districts courts of UP. Candidates, who have completed their graduation degree in law from any recognized institute, will be eligible to apply and appear for the Uttar Pradesh  Judicial Services Examination 

   Exam Pattern and Selection Procedure
The UP PSCJ Exan have  three stage of the examination i.e.
  1.     Preliminary Examination
  2.     Main Examination
  3.     Interview ( Personality Test ) 
                                                   

 UP PCS Civil Judge Preliminary Exam Pattern

  1. The Exam is of Objective type
  2.   It consists of Multiple Choice Questions.
  3.   Question paper comprises of 2 papers.
  4.   Duration of each paper is 2 Hours.
  5.   Paper 1 consists of General knowledge for 150 marks
  6.   Paper 2 consists of Law subject for 300 marks
  7.  There will be negative marking for each wrong answer 

 For UP PCS J Exam Preliminary Exam Syllabus:

Paper No.1: General Knowledge
Time- 2 hours
MM- 150
  •   History of India
  •   Indian Culture,
  •   Geography of India,
  •   Indian Polity,
  •   Current National Issues
  •   Topics of Social relevance,
  •   India and the world,
  •   Indian Economy,
  •  International Affairs and Institutions
  •   Science and Technology,
  •   Communications and Space

 Paper No.2: Law: 
 Time-2 hours
  MM-300

  •  Jurisprudence
  •   International Organizations
  •   Current International Affairs
  •   Indian Constitution
  •   Transfer of Property Act
  •   Indian Evidence Act
  •   Indian Penal Code
  •   Civil Procedure Code
  •   Criminal Procedure Code
  •   Law of Contract




The second stage UP PSCJ is of the examination will be the Main exam. Candidates, who crack the preliminary stage of the examination, get the opportunity to appear in the main examination.

  UP PCS Civil Judge Main Exam Pattern 2020

    The UPPSC Civil Judge Mains Exam consists of the following features :
 
  •    The exam is of Conventional type i.e it consists of descriptive questions.
  •     There will be 5 papers.
  •     Each paper is conducted for a total of 200 marks.
  •     Papers – 3, 4 & 5 consists of questions pertaining to Law Subject.

  For UP PCS J Main Exam Syllabus:

Paper No.1: General Knowledge:
This paper will be of 200 marks.
Time-3 hours
  •  History of India and Indian Culture.
  •     Geography of India, Indian Polity.
  •     Current National Issues and topics of Social relevance.
  •     India and the World.
  •     Indian Economy.
  •     International Affairs and Institutions and
  •     Science and Technolog
  •     Communications and Space

Paper No.2 Language :-
This paper will be of 200 marks. It shall comprise four question as specified below:-
Time-3 hours

(i) Essay to be written in English – 60 marks
(ii) English PrĂ©cis writing – 60 marks
(iii) Translation of passage from Hindi to English – 40 marks
(iv) Translation of Passage from English to Hindi – 40 marks



Paper No.3: Law-I (Substantive Law):
This paper will be of 200 marks.  
 Time-3 hours
  • There shall be questions of 50 marks in relation to Constitutional Law alone.
  • Law of contracts,
  •  Law of Partnership,
  • Law concerning easements and torts,
  •  Law connecting to transfer of property including the principles of equity, specifically applicable thereto,
  •  The principal of Equity with special reference to the Law of trust
  • Specific relief,
  •  Hindu Law
  •  Mohammedan Law
  •  Constitutional Law

Paper No.4: Law II (Procedure and Evidence):
This paper will be of 200 marks.
Time- 3 hours

Questions set will be restricted to the field covered by-the law of evidence, the Criminal Procedure Code and Code of Civil Procedure, including the principles of pleading. The question set will relate mainly to practical matters such as the framing of charges and issues the methods of dealing with the evidence of witnesses the writing of judgment and the conduct of cases generally but will not be restricted to them.


Paper No.5: Law III (Penal, Revenue and Local Laws):
This paper will be of 200 marks.
Time - 3 hours
  •     All the question set be consists of Indian Penal Code,
  •     Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act 1951,
  •     Uttar Pradesh Urban Buildings (Regulation of Letting, Rent and Eviction) Act 1972.
  •     UP. Municipalities Act,
  •     UP. Panchayat Raj Act,
  •     UP. Consolidation of Holdings Act,
  •     UP. Urban (Planning and Development) Act 1973,
  •     Answer to the questions of Local Laws will be compulsory. Questions pertaining to Penal Law will be of 50 marks, whereas, that of Revenue and Local Laws will be of 150 marks. 


 Third Stage- Interview
  • UP PSCJ has  no specific pattern and syllabus of the interview; however, candidates need to have the knowledge of the law in deep.
  •     The interview will be of 100 marks.


 Eligibility For UP PCS Judicial Service Exam

Nationality
    A candidate needs to be the citizen of India.

Domicile of Uttar Pradesh

Moreover, a candidate needs to be having the domicile of UP  to get the reservation benefits.

Education-
Applicants must have completed the Bachelor level education in law from any recognized institute.

Age-
    The age of the applicants must be between 22 years and 35 years.

Reservation-
    The age relaxation for the candidates of the OBC category will be of 3 years.
    The candidates of the SC and ST category will get the age relaxation of 5 years
